A rotary valve (10) with a latching/locking operating handle assembly (14) includes a valve body (16) carrying a rotary valve element (24) having an outwardly extending valve stem (34). A main handle body (40) is joined to the stem (34) and provides guide grooves (46, 48) for cooperating first and second operating members (50, 56) connected by a cam assembly (60, 62, 62a) such that selective horizontal movement of the first operating member (50) produces vertical movement of the second operating member (56). A latch pin (58) carried by the second member (56)is thereby caused to move between engaged and disengaged positions with the valve body (16).

Cette invention concerne un robinet à obturateur tournant (10) et à poignée de manoeuvre (14) verrouillable, qui comprend un corps (16) dans lequel est logé un obturateur tournant (24) surmonté d'une tige (34) se prolongeant à l'extérieur du corps (16) susmentionné.
