A butterfly valve in which a valve body has a transverse shaft mounted in transverse bores in the valve body. A disc is mounted on the shaft for opening and closing the valve. A groove in the shaft receives a ring that is fastened within one transverse bore, for example by a cover plate that clamps the ring against a shoulder in the transverse bore. The ring may be machined to fit the groove loosely and thus play of the shaft in relation to the valve body is governed by the amount of play of the ring in the groove. Bearings on which the shaft is supported are provided with interior wiper seals, and a lock is provided for locking the shaft to the valve body in case of failure of the shaft, for example in case of failure of the shaft at the disc.
La présente invention a pour objet une vanne à papillon dont le corps est traversé par un arbre de commande transversal monté dans des alésages orientés transversalement par rapport au corps de l'appareil. Un disque plat monté sur l'arbre assure l'obturation ou l'ouverture de la vanne. Une rainure pratiquée sur l'arbre de commande reçoit une bague qui est fixée à l'intérieur d'un alésage transversal par une plaque-couvercle, par exemple, qui retient la bague en la maintenant en appui contre un épaulement à l'intérieur de l'alésage. La bague peut être obtenue par usinage pour un ajustement lâche, ainsi le jeu de l'arbre par rapport au corps de la vanne est fonction du jeu de la bague dans la rainure. Les paliers qui supportent l'arbre de commande comportent des joints racleurs, et un dispositif de verrouillage permet de verrouiller l'arbre de commande par rapport au corps de la vanne en cas de défaillance de l'obturateur.
