This device was built to simplify hot tub and pool maintenance by making it possible to work on the pump and heater equipment without the aid of permanent isolating valves. Most hot tubs and pools (hereby referred to as pools) are equipped with two valves that are used to isolate the pump and heater, thereby making it possible to disconnect the equipment without first draining the water from the pool. In the event of a valve failing, any repairs require draining the pool, which is expensive and time consuming. The device seals the water on the upstream side of the malfunctioning valve, eliminating the need to drain the pool for repairs. The device is installed by insertion through an open end of the pipe, pushed in to the desired location and then activated by releasing a carbon dioxide charge. The carbon dioxide inflates a bladder, which seals the pipe.
