ABSTRACT A van body in which the upright wall seats comprise an outer skin in the form of a fibreglass laminate, a oriented strand board mounted to the outer skin and a moisture proof barrier coating on the inner face of the board. The method of assembling the van body includes the steps of forming an outer skin by applying a coating of fibreglass reinforced resin to the walls of a mould to form a pair of oppositely disposed side walls, a front wall and a ceiling which are integrally connected. A sheet of oriented strand board is then applied to each side wall and to the front wall of the outer skin before the skin is cured and removed from the mould such that subsequent curing of the skin serves to bond each board to the inner surface of the skin. A floor is then attached to the front and side walls. The floor is supported by the floor joints of the chassis and has portions of its width that project laterally outwardly from the floor joists. A beam is mounted on And extends transversely of the back end of the floor joists and projects laterally outwardly from opposite sides thereof. The beam underlies and supports the back end portion of the side walls and the front wall is attached to the cab such that the side walls serve to support the portions of the floor board that project laterally outwardly from the floor joists.
