Monohydroxamate vanadium complexes of the formula (I) : R-CO-NHOH.X, wherein R is a residue selected from: (i) H2N-CH (COY)-(CH2)n-, wherein n is 1, 2 or 3, and Y is OH or NH2; (ii) H2N-CH (COOH)-CH2-S-CH2-; and (iii) pyridyl, piperidyl or tetrahydroisoquinolinyl; and X is a vanadium compound selected from a vanadyl (VO2+), metavanadate (VO3-) or vanadate (VO43-) salt, are useful for inducing normoglycemia and/or reducing blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.
L'invention concerne des complexes de vanadium de monohydroxamates représentés par la formule (I), dans laquelle R est un reste choisi parmi: (i) H¿2?N-CH(COY) - (CH¿2?)¿n?-, où n est égal à 1, 2 ou 3, et Y est OH ou NH¿2?; (ii) H¿2?N-CH(COOH)-CH¿2?-S-CH¿2?-; et (iii) pyridyle, pipéridyle ou tétrahydroisoquinolinyle; et X est un composé de vanadium choisi à partir d'un sel de vanadyle (VO?2+¿), de métavanadate (VO¿3??-¿) ou de vanadate (VO¿4??3-¿). Ces complexes sont utiles pour induire une glycémie normale et/ou réduire la glycémie chez des patients diabétiques.
