A seal member having a thermoplastic body for an electrochemical cell containing a nonaqueous organic solvent electrolyte. In particular, the seal member is preferably one or more of (a) a seal located between a cell container wall and a cell cover and (b) a seal of a vent assembly, more particularly a ball vent assembly. The seal member has a composite construction including one or more vapor transmission barrier layers disposed on a portion of the thermoplastic body.

La présente invention concerne un joint étanche à corps thermoplastique destiné à une pile électrochimique contenant un électrolyte à solvant organique non-aqueux. Ce joint étanche est de préférence au moins (a) un joint situé entre la paroi d'élément et le couvercle d'élément ou (b) un joint d'ensemble à évent, et plus particulièrement d'ensemble à évent à bille. Le joint étanche est de construction composite comprenant une ou plusieurs couches barrières, s'opposant à l'émission de vapeurs, et disposées sur une partie du corps thermoplastique.
