An apparatus is disclosed for converting vaporizers such as the DragerTM model 19 from pour-fill to safer indexed key-fill. The problem of such conversion specific to this vaporizer, and others configured similarly, is that the only air hole provided on the front face is through the indicator glass. A special pin is fashioned to screw up into the indicator access hole existing on the fill apparatus on the vaporizer, and a hollow needle extending from this pin extends up through the indicator fluid and carries air from the indicator glass out to the refill bottle. Thus fluid can flow through the adaptor and pin and through existing channels in the vaporizer fill apparatus and into the vaporizer. and decompressing air can return through the hollow needle. A special breather hole and plug is also provided on the adaptor for escape of fluid that may on rare occasions be introduced into the needle.
