ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vapour permeable buoyant insulation composition suitable for floatation garments and the like is impermeable to water, and yet allows the escape of perspiration when the composition is used in garments or boots. The composition comprises a closed-cell insulating foam which has a plurality of apertures distributed throughout, first and second layers of fabric, one layer on each side of the foam, and stitching pattern throughout the composition causing the first and second layers to be in contact at the apertures in the foam.
Cette invention concerne un produit isolant flottant et perméable à la vapeur, destiné aux vêtements de flottaison et accessoires analogues. Utilisé dans des vêtements ou des bottes, il est imperméable à l'eau mais laisse s'échapper la transpiration. Il comprend une mousse isolante à alvéoles fermées qui compte une série d'ouvertures réparties à la grandeur, une première et une seconde couches de tissu disposées de part et d'autre de la mousse et des coutures réalisées de façon que les deux couches de tissu soient en contact avec les ouvertures ménagées dans la mousse.
