Abstract of the Disclosure An ophthalmic device comprises a spectacle frame securing in a fixed position a first pair of light polarizing elements. A second pair of light polarizing elements is superposed with respect to the first pair and rotatable with respect to the first pair to provide variable light transmission. A U-shaped resilient member is secured to each of the rotatable elements, the U-shaped member clipping on to a portion of the frame to bias and hold the rotatable elements adjacent the fixed elements. A tie bar joining both U-shaped members may be provided so that the two rotatable elements are rotated an equal amount. The U-shaped members may be engageable with stops on the frame which limit rotation of the rotatable elements.
