- 99 - VARIABLE DIAMETER HOLLOW EXTRUDED ARTICLES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE ABSTRACT A variable diameter hollow extruded article comprises an integral, unitary, flexible wall defining a body section and at least one spout section with the diameter of the spout section being substantially smaller than the diameter of the body section and in some instances, the thickness of the wall defining the spout section being substantially greater than that defining the body section. In a process for manufacturing variable diameter hollow extruded articles, an extruded resin tube is alternately expanded in diameter to form the body portions and reduced in diameter to form the spout portions of the extruded articles.
