A variable flow restricting device comprises a part having groove means provided in a face thereof and through-passage means communicating with the groove means, The device further comprises covering means for engaging the face to cover the groove means and thereby define flow path means which extend from the through-passage means in communication therewith. Covering of the groove means is facilitated by means for providing relative displacement between the part and the covering means for causing resilient deformation of the covering means and/or the part to provide adjustably variable covering of the groove means. The flow path means extends from the through-passage means to an extent which is adjustably variable according to the relative displacement of the part and the covering means.
Un dispositif de régulation d'écoulement variable comporte une pièce (12) munie de rainures (14) sur l'une de ses faces (18) et percée d'un orifice (20) permettant le libre passage de fluides et communiquant avec les rainures. Le dispositif comporte également des organes de recouvrement (22) qui viennent s'appliquer sur la face (18) pour recouvrir les rainures (14), définissant ainsi un chemin d'écoulement à partir de l'orifice traversant (20) et communiquant avec les rainures. Le recouvrement des rainures est facilité par des éléments (26) permettant un déplacement relatif entre la pièce (12) et les organes de recouvrement (22) visant à provoquer une déformation élastique de ces derniers et/ou de la pièce (12) afin d'obtenir un recouvrement variable et réglable des rainures. La longueur du chemin d'écoulement à partir de l'orifice traversant (20) varie de manière réglable en fonction du déplacement relatif de la pièce (12) et des organes de recouvrement.
