ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a variable low speeds reproducing circuit in a helical scanning type VTR, having a low speed setter for a period of the variable low speed with an integrator, a variable resistance to set the low speed, an IC for a monostable multivibrator and a differentiating circuit connected to the terminal of a switching pulse detected from a head drum, and having a first phase controller to set the starting point of tape with the integrator, the variable resis- tance, the IC for the monostable multivibrator, an inverting transistor and the differentiating circuit and having a second phase controller to be connected to the terminal of a control- ling pulse detected from the tape, and to set the stopping point of the tape with an integrator, the differentiating circuit, the inverting transistors and the IC, and having the output of each phase controller connected to the set and reset terminals in a pulse generator of a flip-flop IC, and having the output of the pulse generator connected to the pulse former with re- sistances for distributing the voltage, an inverting transistor, a differentiating circuit, an RS flip-flop IC, synthesizing diodes and a buffering transistor to transform the pulse which deter- mines the stopping of a capstan motor in a proper position, and having the output of a pulse former connected to the capstan motor through each amplifier for motor driving, and having the output derived between the amplifiers also connected to the anode between an amplifier and the capstan motor through a motor stopper with inverting and buffering transistors.
