-1- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A power supply for providing energy to a flash lamp comprising a plurality of capacitors connected in parallel with their outputs connected to the flash lamp. The capacitors are sequentially discharged by circuitry which continually compares the accumulated exposure with a reference signal which represents the desired exposure level. When the desired exposure is sensed, an inhibit signal is sent to the power supply preventing additional capacitors from being discharge.
