S P E C I F I C A T I O N VARIABLE PROFILE EXTRUSION METHOD AND APPARATUS AND PRODUCTS PRODUCED THEREBY Inventor: Clyde W. Vassar ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved method and apparatus is described for varying the periphery of the profile as seen in cross section of an elongated extrudate article. The method and apparatus provides for varying the profile of an extrusion orifice while an extrudate stock material is being forced through the orifice for producing an elongated article having a varying profile configuration along its length. The utility of this variable profile extrusion method and apparatus is that an elongated extruded article is formed having a vary- ing profile which varies in cross-section configuration as seen taking cross-sections at various points along the length of the article.
