VARIABLE SPACING DATA FORMAT CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD Abstract of the Disclosure A variable spacing format control method and apparatus are described for providing a variable data character format that can be used, for example, for printing or display purposes. A plurality of cells, each including a character therein, are stored in a character generator, and settable means are provided for altering the vertical and horizontal cell dimensions, as well as the number of characters per line, thus per- mitting the selection of a desired one of several dif- ferent available formats.
