A single-phase half-pitch capacitor induction motor capable of being varied in rotational speed between a low rotational speed and high rotational speed. The motor includes a main winding connected across a single-phase electrical power source and an auxiliary winding connected in parallel with the main winding. A first phase shifting capacitor is connected in series with the auxiliary winding. A second capacitor is connected in parallel with the first capacitor and a variable resistor is connected in series with the second capacitor. By increasing and decreasing the resistance, overall capacitance in series with the auxiliary winding is increased and decreased and the rotational speed is, thus, also varied. A single pole, single throw switch or a thermistor can be used instead of a variable resistor for different applications.
Moteur asynchrone monophasé à condensateur demi-pas dont on peut faire varier la vitesse de rotation entre une vitesse de rotation basse et une vitesse de rotation élevée. Le moteur comprend un enroulement principal raccordé à une source d'énergie électrique monophasée et un enroulement auxiliaire connecté en parallèle avec l'enroulement principal. Un premier condensateur de changement de phase est connecté en série avec l'enroulement auxiliaire. Un deuxième condensateur est connecté en parallèle avec le premier condensateur et une résistance variable est connectée en série avec le deuxième condensateur. En augmentant et en diminuant la résistance, on augmente et on diminue la capacité globale en série avec l'enroulement auxiliaire et, ce faisant, on fait également varier la vitesse de rotation. On peut utiliser un interrupteur unipolaire ou une thermistance au lieu d'une résistance variable pour des applications différentes.
