The present invention provides anti-angiogenic variants of pigment epithelium derived factor (PEDF) comprising at least one altered phosphorylation site, polynucleotides encoding same and uses thereof. Particularly, the present invention provides variants of human PEDF comprising at least one amino acid substitution at serine residues (24), (114), and (227). The PEDF variants are potent anti-angiogenic factors, and thus useful in treating diseases or disorders associated with neovascularization.

Cette invention concerne des variants antiangiogéniques du facteur dérivé de l'épithélium pigmentaire (PEDF) comprenant au moins un site de phosphorylation modifié, des polynucléotides codant pour ces variants et les différentes utilisations de ceux-ci. Plus particulièrement, cette invention concerne des variants du PEDF humain comprenant au moins une substitution d'acide aminé au niveau des restes de sérine (24), (114), et (227). Les variants de PEDF sont des facteurs antiangiogéniques puissants et, de ce fait, il sont très utiles pour traiter des maladies ou des troubles associés à la néovascularisation.
