The variegated shingle comprises a shingle layer having front and rear surfaces, the front surface including a butt (20) portion and a headlap portion (18). The shingle layer contains granules on the front surface forming a plurality of horizontal striations (26, 28, 30) providing gradations having color values ranging from light to dark extending between a leading edge (22) of the butt portion and an upper portion (24) thereof. The striations include an upper striation (26) along the upper portion, a lower striation (28) closer to the leading edge (22), and an intermediate striation (30) between the upper and lower striations (26, 28). The upper striation (26) is darker in color value than the lower striation (28), whereas the intermediate striation (30) is no darker in color value than the upper striation (26) and no lighter in color value than the lower striation (28). The color values of at least one of the upper, lower, and intermediate striations (26, 28, 30) vary across the granule layer.
La présente invention concerne un bardeau bariolé comprenant une couche de bardeau composée de surfaces avant et arrière, la surface avant comportant une partie buttée (20) et une partie de recouvrement supérieure (18). La couche de bardeau contient des granulés sur sa surface avant formant plusieurs bandes horizontales (26, 28, 30) présentant des dégradées de couleurs allant du clair au foncé, s'étendant entre un bord d'attaque (22) de la partie buttée et une partie supérieure (24) de celle-ci. Les bandes précitées comprennent une bande supérieure (26) s'étendant le long de la partie supérieure, une bande inférieure (28) plus proche du bord d'attaque (22), et une bande intermédiaire (30) entre les bandes supérieure et inférieure (26, 28). La bande supérieure (26) a un dégradé plus foncé que la bande inférieure (28), alors que la bande intermédiaire (30) a un dégradé qui n'est pas plus foncé que celui de la bande supérieure (26) et pas plus clair que celui de la bande inférieure (28). Les dégradés de couleurs d'au moins une des bandes supérieure, inférieure et intermédiaire (26, 28, 30) varient le long de la couche de granulés.
