Vascular embolic filtering devices and systems, as well as methods for using the same, are provided. The embolic filtering device includes a guide wire (12) and an associated embolic filter (40) for capturing emboli created during interventional procedures within a target vessel. Features of the subject devices and system provide for delivering of the guide wire (12) independently of the filter (40), rotating of the guide wire with respect to the filter and limiting or preventing the proximal translation of the filter with respect to the guide wire. The embolic filter is attached to a sheath (36) having either a shorter-length configuration or an extended-length configuration. The guide wire comprises a proximal stop mechanism (20) engageable with the sheath (36) to limit at least the proximal translation of the embolic filter (40). The subject embolic filter systems provide such guide wires and embolic filters, as well as and an embolic filter delivery, deployment and removal assembly. The methods of the present invention provide for the use of the subject devices and systems.

L'invention concerne des dispositifs et systèmes filtrants emboliques vasculaires, ainsi que leurs procédés d'utilisation. Le dispositif filtrant embolique comporte un fil guide (12) et un filtre embolique associé (40) destinés à capturer des embolies créées lors d'interventions à l'intérieur d'un vaisseau cible. Des caractéristiques des ces dispositifs et système permettent de mettre en place le fil guide (12) indépendamment du filtre (40), de le faire tourner par rapport au filtre et de limiter ou d'empêcher la translation proximale du filtre par rapport au fil guide. Le filtre embolique est fixé à une gaine (36) dont la configuration est soit plus courte, soit plus longue. Le fil guide comprend un mécanisme d'arrêt proximal (20) en prise avec ladite gaine (36) et conçu pour limiter au moins la translation proximale du filtre embolique (40). Les systèmes filtrants emboliques selon l'invention fournissent de tels fils guides et filtres emboliques, ainsi qu'une mise en place, un déploiement et un ensemble d'évacuation de filtre embolique. L'invention concerne enfin des procédés d'utilisation desdits dispositifs et systèmes.
