An internal tissue puncture closure method and apparatus. The method and apparatus provide a folded sealing plug (218) that provides more surface area than conventional plugs to more fully cover and seal an external situs of an internal tissue puncture. The folded sealing plug (218) may have a weave pattern that tends to cause the sealing plug to corkscrew into the internal tissue puncture as it is compressed toward an anchor (114) placed inside of the tissue puncture.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de fermeture par ponction de tissu interne. Le procédé et l'appareil mettent en place un bouchon de scellement plié conférant une surface active plus importante que des bouchons classiques, de manière à couvrir et sceller de façon plus importante un situs externe d'une ponction de tissu interne. Le bouchon de scellement plié peut comprendre un motif d'ondes ayant tendance à entraîner le vissage du bouchon de scellement dans la ponction de tissu interne, du fait qu'il est comprimé en direction d'un élément d'ancrage placé à l'intérieur de la ponction de tissu.
