A method and apparatus for treating blood vessels in a mammal, particularly humans, especially coronary blood vessels (3), for vascular thrombosis and angioplasty restenosis, thereby to decrease incidence of vessel rethrombosis (3'), unstable angina and myocardial infarction, by administering (11, 15) a congener of an endothelium-derived bioactive agent, especially a nitrovasodilator, including one or more of nitric oxide or a nitric oxide donor agent, such as sodium nitroprusside and nitroglycerin, to an extravascular treatment site (4) at a therapeutically effective dosage rate.
Procédé et appareil de traitement de vaisseaux sanguins chez un mammifère, en particulier un sujet humain, plus spécifiquement de vaisseaux sanguins coronaires (3), contre la thrombose vasculaire et la resténose après angioplastie, ce qui permet de diminuer la fréquence de rethrombose des vaisseaux (3'), de l'angor instable et de l'infarctus du myocarde. Ledit procédé consiste à administrer (11, 15) un congénère d'un agent bioactif dérivé de l'endothélium, en particulier un nitrovasodilatateur, dont un ou plusieurs parmi l'oxyde nitrique ou un agent donneur d'oxyde nitrique, tel que du nitroprussiate de sodium et de la nitroglycérine, sur un site (4) de traitement extravasculaire à raison d'un dosage thérapeutiquement efficace.
