X-7336 Abstract The present invention is composed of novel recombinant DNA expression vectors which contain a transcriptional activating sequence, a DNA sequence selected from the group as set forth below 1) Image 2) Image 3) Image 4) Image X-7336 5) Image 6) Image 7) Image 8) Image and a DNA sequence coding for a bioactive polypeptide, especially bovine growth hormone. The aforementioned sequences contain a ribosome binding site and are designed to provide high level expression of DNA that codes for virtually any bioactive polypeptide. The invention further provides transformed microbial host cells capable of producing bovine growth hormone and other bioactive polypeptides at high levels.
