ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vehicle axle attachment adapted to be detachably mounted to the rear of a vehicle to help distribute the vehicle load. The attachment has a top and bottom frame. The front of the top frame is pivotally mounted to the vehicle, preferably with a universal joint. The front of the bottom frame is also mounted to the vehicle, preferably with a vertical axis, rotatable joint. The top frame carries the axle. Air bags connect the rear portions of the top and bottom frames together. Operation of the air bags draws the top frame down toward the bottom frame, which cannot move vertically, and this transfers load to the axle.
