ABSTRACT An aluminum chassis for road or railway vehicles is such that the transverse beams (3) are continuous and are at- tached to the longitudinal beams (2) by means of angle- pieces (6) using threaded bolts (20,23) and nuts (21) or, in particular, parallelogram-shaped nuts (24). The trans- verse beams (3) and, if desired, the longitudinal sections (4) of the frame - which can also function as longitudinal beams - feature undercut channels (9) in which the nuts (24) engage. This type of construction offers various ad- vantages that are realised in the assembly of the chassis and in repairing damaged vehicles.
