The present invention provides for a vehicle flag system for removably displaying a flag from a motor vehicle. The system comprises a flag, a flag mast and a mounting means for releasably holding the flag mast and releasably attaching to the side window of a vehicle. The flag mast supports the flag at an upper end thereof and is provided at the lower end with at least one threaded region. The mounting means includes a socket for receiving the lower end of the flag mast and having at least one threaded region complementary to and releasably engaging the threaded region of the lower end of the flag mast. The flag mast is releasably attached to the mounting means by inserting the lower end into the opening of the mounting means and thereafter rotating the flag mast to bring the threaded region of the lower end into releasable engagement with the complementary threaded region of the opening.
