An animal restraint apparatus is attached to a horizontal surface and includes a guide unit which includes a carriage-retention channel. A carriage unit is received by the carriage-retention channel of the guide unit. The carriage unit includes a main body portion, a wheel assembly connected to a portion of the main body portion encompassed by the carriage-retention channel of the guide unit, and an animal connector connected to the main body portion. Attachment means connect the guide unit to the horizontal surface. The wheel assembly includes a pair of axles received by the main body portion of the carriage unit. Two pairs of wheels are connected to ends of the pair of axles. The carriage-retention channel of the guide unit includes a base portion. A pair of side walls project upward from the base portion. A pair of ridges project toward each other from top portions of the side walls. A pair of end walls are connected to longitudinal ends of the side walls and the base portion. The attachment means includes fastener-receiving apertures in the base portion of the guide unit and screws received by the fastener-receiving apertures. The screws are screwed into the horizontal surface. The guide unit includes a pair of plow portions connected to the main body portion for plowing top edges of the side walls. 19

Cette invention concerne un dispositif de retenue d'animal arrimé à une surface horizontale et comprenant une glissière-guide à profilé de retenue de chariot. Le chariot, placé à l'intérieur du profilé susmentionné, comprend un corps principal, un train de galets fixé à la partie du corps principal logée à l'intérieur du profilé de retenue et un anneau d'accrochage de laisse sur le dessus du corps principal. La glissière-guide est fixée à la surface horizontale par des moyen de fixation appropriés. Le train de galets comprend une paire d'essieux montés sur le corps principal du chariot. Deux paires de galets sont montées au bout de la paire d'essieux. Le profilé de retenue de chariot est formé d'une base, d'une paire de parois verticales terminées par des rebords rabattus l'un vers l'autre. La glissière-guide est fermée aux deux extrémités par des parois de bout fixées à la base et aux parois latérales. La fixation de la glissière-guide se fait au moyen de vis vissées dans la surface horizontale par des trous de vissage ménagés dans la base de la glissière. Il est prévu une paire d'éléments racleurs raccordés au corps principal du chariot pour nettoyer le haut des parois latérales de la glissière-guide.
