A refueling valve for a motor vehicle includes a body connected to the upper wall of a fuel tank with a float in the body that carries a valve element for sealing a valve seat and a weighted pendulum having a disk thereon located within said body and a weight located outboard of said body and operative in response to either dynamic or static tilting of the fuel tank to cause the float to move in a direction to close the valve element against the seat.
