The invention relates to a vehicle restraining system (10) for limiting roadways comprising a base beam (14) extending along the longitudinal axis (A), which overlies a U-shaped bottom (U) and, in the plane view of an orthogonal cross-section along the longitudinal axis (A), reduces from the U- shaped bottom (U) upwardly and a leading profile (24), which extends along the longitudinal axis (A), is placed above the base beam (14) and is fixed thereto. According to said invention said base beam (14) and the guiding profile (24) are connected to each other by means of an intermediate connecting area (22), which is closed at least on one side and extends, in a substantially vertical direction, from the top end of the base beam (14) upwardly towards the guiding profile (24), wherein the base beam (14), the connecting area (22) and the guiding profile (24) form a wall element (12) and, in the plane view of an orthogonal cross-section along the longitudinal axis (A), said guiding profile (24) extends with respect to the connecting area (22) towards the road way, at least locally.

L'invention concerne un système de retenue de véhicules (10) servant à délimiter des pistes de roulement. Ce système présente une traverse de base (14) s'étendant le long d'un axe longitudinal (A), laquelle traverse repose sur un fond (U) et, vue en coupe orthogonale à l'axe longitudinal (A), s'amincit du fond (U) vers le haut, ainsi qu'un profilé de guidage (24) s'étendant le long de l'axe longitudinal (A), lequel profilé est placé au-dessus de la traverse de base (14) et relié à cette dernière. Selon la présente invention, la traverse de base (14) et le profilé de guidage (24) sont reliés par l'intermédiaire d'une zone de liaison (22) fermée au moins d'un côté, laquelle zone s'étend, de façon sensiblement verticale, de l'extrémité supérieure de la traverse de base (14) vers le haut en direction du profilé de guidage (24), la traverse de base (14), la zone de liaison (22) et le profilé de guidage (24) formant ainsi un élément de paroi (12), et, vu en coupe orthogonale à l'axe longitudinal (A), le profilé de guidage (24) s'étend en direction de la piste de roulement au moins par endroits par rapport à la zone de liaison (22).
