VEHICLE RIDE STRUT Abstract of The Disclosure A vehicle ride strut is disclosed which includes first and second tubular housing members having open ends telescoped together, a compression spring compressed by tele- scopic movement of the housing members relatively toward each other, and a snubber arrangement for resiliently resisting movement of the housing members in a direction away from each other during ride strut extension The snubber arrangement comprises first and second spring engaging members disposed within the housing members, a snubber spring interposed between the spring engaging members, a first motion transmitting structure for preventing relative motion between the first spring engaging member and the first housing member during ride strut extension, and a second motion transmitting structure for preventing relative motion between the second spring engaging member and the second housing member during ride strut extension. The first and second motion transmitting structures move the spring engaging members toward each other to compress the interposed snubber spring during ride strut extension so that the ride strut extension is resiliently resisted.
