- 1 - A B S T R A C T A vehicle superstructure, in particular for railway carriages to transport passengers, features a structur- al frame formed by side and end walls (2) and roof (3). This forms an outer structural plane (14) for the carriage superstructure (R) which is covered by an out- er skin and roof cover (16,52); insulating material (15) is fitted between the structural plane (14) and the outer skin and roof cover (16,52). The outer skin panels (16) are on the one hand loosely mounted via spacers (17a) hooked into grooves (21) in sections (22,38,45) permanently attached to the carriage frame or outer structural plane (14), on the other hand re- leasably attached via other spacers to the structural plane (14) or held by holders (19a,b) secured to sec- tions (4,6,12) of the carriage frame with interleaving insulation (20a,b).
