vehicle suspension system that resiliently supports a suspended portion of a vehicle on a non-suspended portion while at the same time prevewting pitch and rail that are caused by acceleration, deceleration and turning. The system includes a linear actuator such as a single-acting hydraulic cylinder interconnected through a control system with variable displacement pumps/motors and an accumulator. The accumulator is charged to apply enough pressure in the hydraulic system to support the suspended portion of the vehicle in static condition. The variable displacement pumps along with the controls sense the pressure changes occurring in the linear actuators to prevent movement thereby maintaining a normal, level position of the vehicle.
