ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vehicle ventilating roof device or sunroof is provided. The complexities and costs of existing types of sun- roof are greatly reduced by this invention. A sliding reflective glass panel, located in tracks on the outside of the vehicle roof, is adapted to open or close a roof opening. A tubular seal fixed around the opening contacts the panel, when in the closed position, to seal the opening. A vacuum applied to the tubular seal flattens the tube to release it from contact with the panel. This allows the panel to slide to its open position. The simplicity of the invention facilitates ease of installation into a vehicle whilst minimizing costs.
