A vehicle windshield bug and debris deflector mounted on a rearwardly extending flange portion underlying the front portion of a vehicle hood is disclosed. The deflector, extending substantially the full width of the vehicle hood, comprises a shield having a linear portion, a sharply curved portion, and an upstanding bug deflection portion, at least one attachment strip and at least one resiliently deformable stabilizer. The attachment strip, having adhesive on bothtop and bottom surfaces, attaches the upper surface of the linear portion of theshield to the rearwardly extending flange portion underlying the front portion of the vehicle hood. The stabilizer, having adhesive on one surface, attaches to the lower surface of the linear portion of the shield. When the hood is closed, the stabilizer is compressed between the lower surface of the linear portion of the shield and an upper surface of the vehicle grille, thereby reinforcing the attachment of the upper surface of the linear portion of the shield to the attachment strip and the attachment of the attachment strip to the rearwardly extending flange portion underlying the front portion of the vehicle hood.

Lorsque le capot est fermé, le stabilisateur est comprimé entre la surface inférieure de la partie linéaire de l'écran et une surface supérieure de la calandre du véhicule, ce qui renforce l'adhésion de la surface supérieure de la partie linéaire de l'écran à la bande de fixation et l'adhésion de cette dernière à la partie rentrante du rebord avant du capot du véhicule.
