The steering wheel of the vehicle is comprised of an annular roller bearing (22) of which the interior element (23) is made integral with one of its elements, for example the exterior element (25) of a second roller bearing (24) and of which the other annular element (21) carries a rim (19) and a tyre (20). The interior element (26) of the second roller bearing (24) is mounted by means of a pivot (40) to an articulated arm (17). The inclination of the second roller bearing and consequently the play of the steering wheel is variable owing to a double-acting hydraulic jack (42) supplied by a hydraulic pump (46) driven by a motor (47) controlled by an electronic circuit (48) coupled to a gear selector.
