A paint base comprising a vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene copolymer having one or more discrete vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene copolymer domains and one or more discrete vinylidene fluoride homopolymer domains including a major portion of vinylidene fluoride homopolymer domain which contains at least 50% of the vinylidene fluoride content of the polymers, paints and varnishes therefrom, coatings derived from said paints and varnishes and articles coated with said coatings are disclosed. The coatings have improved gloss, flex, crack resistance and other use properties.

On divulgue un milieu de suspension de peinture comprenant un copolymère de fluorure de vinylidène et d'hexafluoropropylène ayant un ou plusieurs domaines discrets de copolymère de fluorure de vinylidène et d'hexafluoropropylène et un ou plusieurs domaines discrets d'homopolymère de fluorure de vinylidène incluant une partie majeure de domaine d'homopolymère de fluorure de vinylidène qui contient au moins 50 % de la teneur du polymère en fluorure de vinylidène, peintures et vernis ainsi obtenus, revêtements dérivés desdits peintures et vernis et articles revêtus avec lesdits revêtements. Les revêtements se caractérisent par des propriétés d'utilisation améliorées, comme le brillant, la flexibilité, la résistance au craquelage et autres.
