An improved electric power steering device for a vehicle includes a power steering device having a particular cooperation between the steering shaft and an actuator unit provided on the steering shaft. The steering shaft is supported on the vehicle body frame by a plurality of bearings that include a self aligning bearing. The self aligning bearing accommodates misalignment between an axis of the actuator unit and an axis of the steering shaft and simplifies the structure.
