A drainage device and method which provides for drainage from paper or pulp stock on a fabric (10) in a sheet- or mat-making machine which includes a primary blade (26) and trail blade (28) with a gap (24) therebetween for drainage wherein the size of the gap (24) controls drainage and the primary blade (26) is so configured so as to force a portion of the drained liquid through the fabric to create paper stock activity and disbursement while minimizing turbulence and maintaining laminar flow of the machine direction along with providing reinforcement of CD shear.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé d'égouttage du papier ou de la pâte de papier sur un tissu (10) dans une machine de fabrication de papier ou de matelas de fibres. Ledit dispositif comporte une lame primaire (26) et une lame arrière (28) entre lesquelles se trouve un espace (24) destiné à l'égouttage, la taille dudit espace (24) permettant une régulation de l'égouttage et la lame primaire (26) étant conçue de façon à forcer une partie du liquide de drainage à traverser le tissu pour créer une activité de la pâte à papier et un déversement tout en minimisant la turbulence et en conservant un flux laminaire dans la direction de la machine, et tout en assurant un renforcement du cisaillement suivant la direction transversale à la machine.
