A vending machine having promotional features, wherein a secured token is associated with a subset of all the items that can be vended, and validation of the token limits the items offered to the patron for his selection to only that subset of items. A first vending machine promotes a new product by the manufacturer of the new product distributing secure promotional tokens good for a free vend or a discount on the price of the new product. In a second vending machine, products from multiple manufacturers are separately promoted using distinct secure promotional tokens for each brand. In a third vending machine providing a plurality of time-metered services, a secure promotional token provides only a limited economy subset of services for the patron's selection from among the plurality of services.
La présente invention concerne un distributeur automatique présentant des caractéristiques promotionnelles. Selon cette invention, un jeton sécurisé est associé à un sous-ensemble de tous les articles qui peuvent être vendus et la validation du jeton limite les articles proposés au client pour sa sélection seulement à ce sous-ensemble d'articles. Un premier distributeur automatique assure la promotion d'un nouveau produit en ce que le fabricant de ce nouveau produit distribue des jetons promotionnels sécurisés qui sont valables pour une distribution gratuite ou pour une réduction sur le prix d'achat du nouveau produit. Dans un deuxième distributeur automatique, des produits provenant de plusieurs fabricants sont mis en promotion séparément en utilisant différents jetons promotionnels sécurisés pour chaque marque. Dans un troisième distributeur automatique offrant une pluralité de services mesurés dans le temps, un jeton promotionnel sécurisé offre seulement un sous-ensemble à économie limitée de services pour la sélection du client parmi la pluralité de services.
