ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved fuel filter device is disclosed. The filter is particularly adapted for use in applications where it is mounted such that the fuel inlet and outlet end is oriented downward. The filter according to this invention includes a threaded port in the substantially closed end with a threaded plug removably installed therein. When it is desired to remove air or gases entrapped within the filter, the plug can be removed, and the filter primed by introducing fuel directly into the end port. The port and plug may also be used for venting the fuel system.
