VENTED INSULATION SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An insulated exterior building wall structure with a layer of old siding on the exterior side of the vertical framing members, and interior face forming members on the interior side of the framing members, moisture-impervious flat boards against the outer side of the old siding with spaced parallel elongate shallow grooves extending from one edge to the other edge on the side of the moisture-impervious boards disposed against the old siding, and new siding over the moisture-impervious boards, the grooves providing a means for venting water vapor that would otherwise accumulate at the moisture- impervious surface and deteriorate the old siding.
