A vented wound dressing is disclosed comprising a thin conformable sheet material at least a portion of the surface area of which is intended for placement as a dressing over a wound, which portion carries a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on one surface thereof for adhering the dressing to skin, the coating being applied to provide repeating areas of the sheet material containing no adhesive, at least a portion of the repeating areas of no adhesive having slits extending through the thickness thereof to permit transfer or wound fluids through the sheet material unimpeded by presence of adhesive material which can clog the slits and thereby inhibit fluid transfer therethrough.

Un pansement aéré constitué d'une mince épaisseur de matériau souple ayant au moins une partie de la surface, destinée à recouvrir la blessure, qui est enduite d'un adhésif autocollant afin de faire adhérer le pansement à la peau, l'adhésif étant appliqué à intervalle régulier sur la surface de façon à ce qu'il y ait des zones répétées sans enduit, et ayant au moins une partie des zones sans adhésif qui arbore des fentes traversant toute l'épaisseur du pansement de façon à ce que le transfert des fluides de la blessure dans le matériau ne soit pas compromis par la présence d'adhésif qui pourrait obstruer les fentes et ainsi empêcher le passage des fluides.
