The ventilated filter cigarettes of the present invention have an American-blend flavor. The cigarettes comprise Virginia tobacco with main stream smoke have a condensate/nicotine ratio of 5:1 to 9:1, a condensate value of 10 mg maximum, a pH-value greater than 6.0, and a pollutant index of less than 35. Specific features of this invention include: a filling tobacco comprising Virginia tobacco with a high nicotine content of 2 to 3.5% by weight; a packing density of 150 to 250 mg/cm3; a cigarette paper having an air permeability of 3 to 20 CORESTA units, in which the cigarette rod is in the hardness/haptic range of 1.9 to 2.5 mm ET; a fine-titre cellulose acetate filter having no flavor-modifying additives and having an individual titre of 1.3 to 2.5 denier, and a total titre of 40,000 to 55,000 denier resulting in a draw resistance of 95 to 160 daPa for a length of 21 mm and a diameter of 7.8 mm, and a secondary air supply corresponding to a filter ventilation level to 20 to 45%; and a final draw resistance of the cirgarette of 100 to 160 daPa.

La présente invention a pour objet une cigarette à filtre ventilé fabriquée d'un mélange de tabac américain. La cigarette en question est fabriquée de tabac de Virginie dont la fumée principale affiche un ratio de condensat/nicotine entre 5:1 et 9:1., une valeur maximum du condensat de 10 mg, une valeur du pH supérieure à 6,0 et un indice de pollution inférieur à 35. Les caractéristiques spécifiques de la présente invention incluent : un tabac de Virginie à haute teneur en nicotine comprise entre 2 % et 3,5 % en poids; une compacité de l'ordre de 150 à 250 mg/cm3; un papier à cigarette affichant une perméabilité à l'air comprise entre 3 et 20 unités CORESTA; un cylindre de cigarette affichant une dureté haptique de l'ordre de 1,9 à 2,5 mm ET; un filtre en acétate de cellulose sans agent de sapidité et possédant un titre de finesse individuelle compris entre 1,3 et 1,5 deniers et un titre total compris entre 40 000 et 55 000 deniers se traduisant par une résistance au tirage de 95 à 160 daPa pour une longueur de 21 mm et un diamètre de 7,8 mm; un niveau d'admission d'air secondaire correspondant à un niveau de ventilation de 20 à 45 %; et une cigarette affichant une résistance finale au tirage de l'ordre de 100 à 160 daPa.
