ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a ventilating system for toilet comprising a conduit formed for example in the seat and opening in the bowl through an orifice. The orifice is situated in a precisely delimited front space of the toilet bowl. Upon installation of the ventilating system, a valve enables adjustment of the magnitude of the flow of foul air drawn from the bowl through the orifice and conduit. Any space between the seat and the top rim surface is sealed and accordingly as foul air is evacuated, air is also drawn in the bowl through a front, primary air inlet defined in the central hole of the toilet seat between the thighs of the user and through a rear, secondary inlet. The so drawn secondary air passes under the posterior of the user and is therefore susceptible to cause discomfort. In operation, the user selects the ratio of the flows of primary and secondary air so as to be comfortable but also to prevent escape of foul air in the bathroom. For that purpose, after the valve has been adjusted, the user can change the area of the above mentioned primary air inlet by varying the distance separating his thighs and/or by seating more or less in front of the seat. The drawn foul air can be evacuated properly outside of the toilet room or treated through a filter and returned into the toilet room.
