Ce dispositif comprend un ventilateur centrifuge (24) apte à tourner dans un ou deux sens, disposé dans une chambre (C) d'entrée d'air et refoulant de l'air en direction dudit moteur (1) . Le flux d'air (F1) refoulé par le ventilateur (24) est divisé en un flux interne (F2), dirigé vers l'intérieur d'une enceinte (E) de confinement renfermant au moins le rotor (5) du moteur (1), et un flux externe (F3), dirigé vers des canaux (31) de refroidissement du stator (8) du moteur (1). Le refroidissement obtenu est particulièrement efficace alors que les risques d'encrassement du moteur sont faibles.
