A planar frame for circumferential mounting around a vent, below a ventilator atop the vent, has four subassemblies, one for mounting to each side of the vent. Each subassembly has a pair of opposed facing channel brackets lying in the plane of the frame. The opposed facing channel brackets support therebetween upper and lower mesh screens. Layered media are sandwiched between the screens. The layered media includes an upper coarse filtration layer, a medial hydrophobic oil and grease absorbing or adsorbing layer, and a lower oil and grease impermeable layer.
