A venting and flow control closure device includes a disc having a peripheral sealing area attachable to a rim which encircles a dispensing opening of a liquid container and a repeating vented fracture pattern formed on the disc and extending from one edge to an opposite edge of the sealing area of the disc. The disc is made substantially of a metal foil material. The repeating fracture pattern is formed of a plurality of alternating vents and rupturable bridges. Each vent has a length substantially greater than the length of each bridge. The repeating fracture pattern has a central portion zig-zag in shape with peaks and valleys terminating in a plurality of round holes, and a pair of opposite side portions extending outwardly from the round holes of the central portion in substantially perpendicular relation to an imaginary line dividing the zig-zag pattern of the central portion into halves with all of the peaks in one half and all of the valleys in the other half. These outwardly extending portions of the repeating fracture pattern terminate in the peripheral sealing area of the disc. The alternating vents and rupturable bridges and the repeating fracture pattern formed therewith enable the disc to be attached to the rim of the dispensing opening of the container without the need for centering or indexing the design in the installation process.
Dispositif de fermeture à contrôle d'aération et d'écoulement comprenant un disque muni d'une surface d'étanchéité périphérique pouvant être fixé au bord qui entoure une ouverture de distribution d'un contenant de liquide et d'un motif de rupture répétitif pour mise à l'air libre formé sur le disque et se prolongeant d'un bord au bord opposé de la surface d'étanchéité du disque fabriqué de ruban métallique. Le motif de rupture est formé en alternance de nombreux évents et ponts qui peuvent être brisés. Chaque évent est essentiellement plus long que chaque pont. Le motif de rupture répétitif comprend une partie centrale en zig-zag formée de sommets et de dépressions se terminant en de nombreux trous ronds. Il comprend également deux parties latérales opposées se prolongeant à l'extérieur des trous ronds de la partie centrale en relation essentiellement perpendiculaire par rapport à une ligne imaginaire divisant le motif en zig-zag de la partie centrale en moitiés comportant tous les sommets dans une moitié et toutes les dépressions dans l'autre. Ces parties se prolongeant à l'extérieur du motif de rupture se terminent dans la surface d'étanchéité périphérique du disque. Les évents et ponts et le motif de rupture qu'ils forment permettent de fixer le disque au bord de l'ouverture de distribution du contenant sans avoir à centrer ou à indexer le disque dans le processus d'installation.
