A method according to this invention employs a set of valves, a series of pressure checks, and a physical stop for verifying the closing of a locking system of a cylindrical passageway. The method may also employ an equalization piping. The valves isolate a tapping machine, a pipeline, and the equalization piping from one another so that product cannot flow from one to the other. The valves are then opened as a series of pressure checks are performed. A completion plug is then lowered into the passageway until the plug comes to rest within the passageway and is oriented so that a locking ring of the plug is in a fully expanded position. The expanded position is then confirmed by raising the plug until its upward travel is restricted. The plug is then released and pressure above the plug is reduced to 0 psi gauge.
L'invention concerne un procédé faisant appel à un ensemble de vannes, à une série de contrôles de pression et à un obstacle physique pour confirmer la fermeture dun système de blocage dun passage cylindrique. Le procédé peut également faire appel à une tuyauterie dégalisation. Les vannes isolent une machine de piquage, un pipeline et la tuyauterie dégalisation les uns des autres de telle sorte que du produit ne puisse pas circuler de lun à lautre. Les vannes sont alors ouvertes tandis quune série de contrôles de pression est effectuée. Un bouchon de complétion est alors descendu dans le passage jusquà ce que le bouchon simmobilise à lintérieur du passage et soit orienté de telle sorte quune bague de blocage du bouchon soit en position entièrement déployée. La position déployée est alors confirmée en soulevant le bouchon jusquà ce que son mouvement ascendant soit entravé. Le bouchon est alors libéré et la pression au-dessus du bouchon est réduite à 0 psi effectif.
