An adjustable collar/hood attached to an upper body garment constructed of fabric containing a UPF rating of 30+ having the function of protecting a person's skin from the adverse effects of UV (ultraviolet) radiation. A versatile multi-mode collar/hood (Figure 1) is configured to provide a variety of modes of wear with respect to chest, neck, ears and scalp coverage. An adjustable collar/hood including a head opening disposed opposite of where hood/collar attaches to any upper body garment. An adjustable collar/hood including a neck portion being extendable away from said hood portion.
