- 2 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertical aperture correction circuit is disclosed, wherein undesirable amplitude changes of luminance signals of alternate lines are cancelled. First of all, luminance signals of adjacent two lines are added for cancelling the undesirable amplitude changes in the main luminance signal. Further a difference between the luminance signals of adjacent two lines is squared for cancelling the undesirable amplitude changes in a vertical detail signal. By mixing the corrected main luminance signal and the vertical detail signal, a vertical aperture corrected video signal is obtained without the undesirable amplitude changes between lines.
