ABSTRACT A vertical broaching machine with multiple broaches, particularly for forming tube plates for steam generators, includes a support for supporting a perforated plate in a horizontal position, a broach-holder disposed above the support and movable vertically relative thereto, a pulling unit for the broaches which is disposed below the support and movable vertically relative thereto in alignment with the broach-holder, and means, for causing relative movements of the plate and the broaches along two mutually perpendicular horizontal axes in order to align the broaches vertically with successive holes in the plate The support for the plate is movable along only one of the perpendicular axes and the broach-holder and the pulling unit are movable along the other horizontal axis.
